New mindset for a new life
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Rom. 12:2 KJV)
God created the human mind with an enormous capacity. The mindset is the way we think, about events, people, circumstances we find ourselves in or even life in general. Our outward behavior is directly driven by the way we think. The mind is not evil, it was given to us by God as a great endowment to enable us to rule the earth. Its powers can be used either positively to beautify our lives or in a  negative manner, therefore producing negativity in our lives. The way we think, which is our perspective, is very important.
Romans 12:2 says we should be transformed by the renewal of our minds. Yes, even our Christian transformation is rooted in the renewal of the way we think. The old mindset cannot be used to live the new life. The Christian life is a divine life, that requires a divine way of thinking to thrive in it. It is impossible to live the new life daily except our minds be renewed. When we got born again, the way we were thinking did not change, because it was our spirit that got born again. If you were fearful of certain events in life, you might have realized that fear did not go away, because the mindset that drives the fear is still there. For you to be completely free of such fear, you must change the way you think about what makes you afraid. If you were afraid of accidents while driving, or not having enough money, or what happens after you die, Â then you should change the way you think and replace it with the Word of God addressing these circumstances.
Once we change our mind by His Word, then we begin to experience the new life. There are many believers who are trying to live the new life with the old mindset. It will not work. Constant meditation in God’s Word will inscribe His thought on your mind to the extent that His thoughts will become your thoughts, and you will begin seeing life the way God sees it. Your perspective will change. This is the way to get your mind renewed, by replacing the old way of thinking with God’s Word.
MEDITATE
The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)
Keep that scripture in your mind, as you think deeply about what it means and how it applies to you. Â Mutter and declare it loud, that your mind is being renewed daily as you keep your thoughts on the Word.
PRAY
Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)
Thank the Lord for the gift of your mind, with its power of thought and imaginations. Ask the Lord to show you thought patterns in your life that are driving your life outwardly which you might not even be aware of.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)
Identity a thought pattern that is producing a negative result in your life today. With the example of fear as used above, identify the thought pattern that is driving that specific fear in your heart. Maybe worry, and not fear, is your challenge. Maybe yours today is something different. That thought pattern is your mindset. Now locate the Word to change your mindset and focus on what the Lord says. This is the process of renewal of the mind. Then stick to the Word and refuse to change the way you think. Congratulations, you are now on the way to a new and exciting life in the Word!!
