The Cleansing of the Temple for the Coming Glory
And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise (John 2:15–16 KJV)
Jesus cleansed the Temple during His earthly ministry, and He is about to repeat this cleansing. He has to do so because there is a move of the Spirit that requires the prior removal of filth from His people. Let us briefly review what Jesus did then and what He is going to do shortly.
What filth did Jesus remove from God’s House in the first cleansing? Intuitively, many of us will think of sinners or sin. However, Jesus’ concern was not sinners but merchants who had turned God’s House into a marketplace. In John 2:15-16, Jesus walked into the Temple and saw His Father’s House in full business and marketplace mood. He made a whip and chased the merchants and moneychangers out: Yes, Jesus, lashed people and chased them out of the Temple.
Similarly, Jesus will cleanse His Church from the unthinkable financial greed, hidden covetousness, and distorted financial practices. We know sin is a significant hindrance to God’s purposes in our lives, so cleansing from sin is still required. However, few know that money can be as dangerous as sin is to God’s will and plans, primarily through its influences on ministers. Sadly, money is ruining a significant proportion of God’s Church — not all Churches or ministries — and He will cleanse the House, starting from the top and moving to the bottom. Since the coming glory is unstoppable, Christ will set aside those who will resist His cleansing.
The Lord is cleansing us from various things such as sin or unhealthy behaviors, but He is also preparing a whip to cleanse His Church from covetousness.

We sincerely need God’s help. He knows what to do to get His people in shape for His coming presence and power on the earth. At the root of the financial filth in the Church are doctrines that feed greed, covetousness, and financial manipulations. Join in prayer and willingness to see the Lord restore financial health and order to His Church.
Ask the Father to cleanse His Church and remove the filth of financial shame that has covered a significant portion of His people.
