He had faith to be healed
The same heard Paul speak: who stedfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed Acts 14:9 KJV
Let me continue in this miniseries on faith and share with you a critical truth about faith. Paul was preaching one day and noticed a disabled man listening to him very intently. The scripture above noted that Paul perceived the disabled man had faith to be healed. This perception is certainly the working of the Spirit. However, the point I am interested in is that the man had faith to be healed.
Please note that the scripture did not say the Lord was willing to heal the man. The man had faith to be healed. There were other sick people listening to Paul. The crippled man believed the things Paul was speaking about. God did not decide to heal that man then. The healing was already there, present with Paul being used as a vessel. When the man believed, it is as though he stretched forth his hands to receive what God was longing to give him.
Many of us have a misconception that God has our blessings and He is looking at our hearts to see if we measure up to the level of faith before He releases the blessing. Please erase this sort of mentality from your mind. How many times did you read Jesus saying “be it unto you according to your faith”?. Faith is the human hand stretched out to receive and enjoy what God has given you.
MEDITATE
Does God decide to give us something when He sees that we have believed?
APPLY THE WORD
The purpose of this devotional is to show you that it matters whether we believe or not. Some Christians bring emotions in spiritual things in the wrong way and wonder why God seems to be so insensitive to their suffering by not giving them the miracle they are looking for. I hope this short devotional helps. Our believing matters. Stretch your faith and receive the blessing, breakthrough, healing, miracle, etc that you already see given to you in the Word.
PRAY
Thank the Lord for giving us all things we need.
