And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. (Matt. 14:29-30)

The story above was Peter’s story, but with a lesson for all generations of believers to follow. Sadly, this same story repeats itself again and again in our lives today. As Peter who began to sink, after walking on the water (miracle), so we also lose a miracle we have received without even realizing it. This might be surprising to you, but we can lose a miracle we received from God.

The same trick Satan used on Peter is still working effectively today, and that’s why he finds no need to change it. Peter received a miracle, then something happened to him that made him doubt the miracle he has received, he then got afraid and began to sink. He lost his miracle. Ever heard of people who “were healed” but later became sick? They usually end up saying “it did not work”. Our enemy does not quit easily like we do. He knows a fundamental weakness of humanity-“cause them to see or hear something that is contrary to what God told them and they will doubt God and follow what they see and hear”. There are some of you reading this devotional today who have received from the Lord a financial miracle already. You landed a job that is mind-blowing. Then you get a phone call that seems to shatter your world. What do you do? Does not mean you did not receive? No! Satan usually will not sit and watch you have coffee on the table with your miracle. He will come to take it away. God wants you to be able to stand on His Word, and not go with what is happening around you. The fact that you got that letter, or that phone call or you still felt that pain in your body does not mean you have not received a miracle.

Learn to stand your grounds. Do not stagger at God’s Word. You will hardly receive a miracle without something around you that seem to tell you that nothing really happened.  Walk in the steps of father Abraham who “staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God (Rom. 4:20). What voice are you hearing today?  The voice of God or the voice of our circumstances. Do not lose your healing today. Do not lose your financial breakthrough. Do not lose your deliverance. Do not lose that relationship God has promised you. Do not lose that ministry.

MEDITATE

The Word in your  mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Joshua 1: 8)

Meditate on that story of Peter above. Peter is no longer here today. You and I are on the scene. Have you been sinking like Peter in some area of your life?

PRAY

Water the Seed( word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)

 We need God to help us here. If God “succeeds” to make you “die to your environment and be alive to His Word only”, then your life of glory has begun. Ask God to help your heart, as you establish it in God’s Word.

APPLY THE WORD TODAY!

Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)

Make up your mind today not to stagger and lose your miracle. Choose not to give in to the enemy’s tactics. Do not be surprised at the storms that may come your way today-they might well be storming to steal your miracle. Stand firm!  Satan “hates” people like these, because they are his ruin. Do not quit. Hold on to your miracle today by standing on God’s Word without doubt or fear. Guard your heart today with all diligence. Do not let anyone talk unbelief, fear, doubt, and anxiety into it. Watch what you watch, and what you listen to, for those are major gates that  fear uses to come into our soul.
