But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows (Luke 12:7 KJV)
Could you imagine what Jesus revealed in the verse above? That God has numbered all the hairs on our heads! He knows how many of them are there and has a number assigned to each strand. He knows when hair number 967 falls! Why did Jesus want us to know and believe this?
Jesus revealed not only God’s immense personal knowledge of us but also His loving care for His people. This is Jesus’ point: if God cares about you so much that He has numbered the hairs on your head, then He certainly knows and cares about your daily needs such as food, clothing, shelter, money.
If God cares so much about us, why don’t we see Him more often address these concerns in our lives? This is a valid question that should prompt us to ponder the ways of God. Was Jesus ever bothered about food to eat, clothes to wear, or protection even amid turbulent sea waves? The answer is never. The difference between Jesus’ experience and ours today is not that He was the son of God, but that He knew about the Father’s care and believed His ever-present providence far more than we do.
Remember that Jesus was not quoting scripture when He said God had numbered our hairs. He was revealing to us the Father from what He knew about Him.

What is the difference between God numbering the hairs on our heads and just knowing how many of them are there?
Apply the Word
The conclusion from Jesus’s revelation was this “Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.” Refuse to allow the issues of life bothering you, knowing how much the Father knows and cares about you. Until you trust and rest in Him, God’s care for you will be as if it is not.
Thank the Father for His loving providence.
