Traveling Around the Same Mountain in Your Life For Too Long?
You have been traveling around this mountain country long enough. Turn northward ( Deuteronomy 2:3 ESV)
Sometimes, circumstances or events force us to look back and take an inventory of our lives or look forward into the near future to where we are headed in life. One of such situations is the end of the year. The Bible has a thought-provoking story in this regard.
In Deut. 2:3 above, God told the Israelite “you have been traveling around this mountain country long enough.” As a result of their lack of faith and disobedience, the Israelites spent 40 years instead of a few weeks traveling from Egypt to the promised land. At one juncture, they journeyed round about the same mountain in the desert for such a long time that the Lord Himself told them, “it is enough!”.
Mountains in Scripture often symbolize challenges or problems. The Bible and our experiences teach us it is possible to deal with the same problem or issue for many years—possibly for an entire lifetime. For example, Jesus once met a man who had suffered from the same infirmity for 38 years.
What mountain comes to mind in your own life as you read this devotional? What have you struggled with this year, the same last year or maybe 5 or 10 years ago? The Word of the Lord says you have compassed that mountain long enough. It is time to turn around and break that cycle.

Is it possible for us to alter the course of the circumstances of our lives? Your answer to this question will profoundly impact how you respond to events in your life.
With God, nothing is impossible. However, significant turnarounds in life require unusual decisions and actions. Sadly, we are often not ready or willing to ask, seek or knock until the door to our desired miracles or breakthrough opens. As I said before if God does not touch you, touch Him. So if you are still going around the same mountain in your life, make up your mind to seek or knock until the door to that miracle opens.
Ask the Lord for wisdom to know what to do and the strength to remove mountains in your life.
