Your Call to Glory
. . . as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, (2 Pet. 1:3 NKJ)
The glory of God is God Himself. He is the beauty of heaven and all of creation. The glory is His presence. As seen in the Old Testament, the earth responds to the presence of God in different ways such as the cloud, light, fire, or even smoke. These are natural manifestations of the glory of God. Sadly, many believers who talk about the glory of God think we are expecting to see a cloud over the church or some demonstration of the supernatural over our lives in Christian gatherings.
Yes, the glory of God can still produce physical manifestations, but these were only a shadow of the real thing. The glory of God is God Himself. The physical light, the cloud, and all that we see and hear with our senses are only earthly manifestations of His glory. The real thing, or the truth, is God’s presence.
When you were born again, your spirit was immersed in God’s nature and presence. The Holy Spirit came into you, baptizing you into the nature of Christ.
Our call to glory is God’s invitation for man to come, experience, and express His divine nature and presence. The glory of God dwells in you and is expressed AS YOU. It is no longer some light we should be expecting. You are the light!
God will be revealed in and through you as you live. His power, His wisdom, His love, His joy, etc., will all be experienced, enjoyed, and manifested to the world to see as you!
MEDITATE
Why does God call us the “manifestation of His glory on earth?” Read Isa 60:1-3.
APPLY THE WORD
Be the visible manifestation of the invisible God to those you meet today. That is the life of glory!
PRAY
Ask the Spirit to open your eyes to who you really are as a believer in Christ.
