What must I do to be saved?
Question: What must I do to be saved?
Answer: Receive salvation  as  God’s gift to you.
There  is really nothing for you to do to be saved, because  God has already done what needed to be done. All that is left is for you is  to receive what God has already done for you. Though salvation is the greatest miracle that any human being can ever receive,  getting saved however  is easier than ABC, because God has already done the hard work for you. He is a good God that loves you!
The reason God had to do it for us is because what was needed to save us from our sins and eternal damnation was beyond our reach. Jesus put it this way
The disciples were astounded. “Then who in the world can be saved?” they asked. Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” (Matt. 19:25-26 NLT)
We needed to be rescued-just allow God rescue you!
What did God do to save me?
God had to pay the full penalty of sin  in our place, in order to be able to save us from sin and  eternal condemnation which follows it. What had to be done could only by done by God, but only as a man. Therefore God had to come as a Man in the Person of Jesus Christ to  suffer and die in our place.
The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. (Rom. 8:3 NLT)
Jesus Christ, with pure and holy blood,  suffering and dying on the cross through  the most agonizing form of execution even known to humanity( the crucifixion)  is the work that needed to be done to get you saved.  After three days, he got out of the grave as a sign that His work was successful!
Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. (Heb. 9:14 NLT)
All that needs to be done for all your sins to be forgiven, for you to be free from all forms of bondage, saved from eternal condemnation  and to become a child of God has already been done. This is  what grace is. God,  making such a grievous sacrifice to save men and women who  do not merit it. We are saved by grace, because God did what had to be done, and then gave it to us as a gift.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. (Eph. 2:8 NLT)
So what must I do to be saved?
Just receive what God has given to you as a gift. Asking “what must I do to be saved?” means a miracle has already started in your life-you have seen your need to be saved which is the work of God’s Spirit!
If I gave you a dollar bill, you will receive it by stretching your hand and taking it from me. The hand that receives from God is called faith. You receive from God by believing what God has already done for you, which comes to you by the message of the Gospel. It is so simple naturally but extremely powerful spiritually.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Rom. 10:9-10 NLT)
The heart believes, and the mouth confesses- and that’s it! You can get saved right now! To make it easier, you can say the short prayer below:
Father( God), I thank you for loving me and taking the steps needed to save me. I believe that Jesus died  on the cross for my sins, and was resurrected from the grave so that I can be made a child of God. I declare today that Jesus is my Lord. Thank you Father for I am now saved!
That’s it! No drama, no spiritual gymnastics.
