The Word of God Works
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Heb. 4:12 NKJ.)
If you are looking for something that works, here it is! God’s Word works! It is God’s remedy for all the ailments of humanity, be they physical, social, spiritual, emotional, or financial. The scripture above says the Word of God is living and powerful. The word “powerful” means active, effective, and able to cause something to happen! The Word of God carries the inherent ability of God (divine power) to cause changes to occur in our lives.
What changes are you looking for? The Word of God does not work in spiritual things only. It works in all things, at all times. Are you struggling with an addiction? Is there some demonic oppression or disease in your body? Are you financially oppressed by the strong arms of poverty and need? God’s Word works! It is therefore critical for us believers to understand how the Word of God works so that we can benefit from it.
The first verse of Hebrews, Chapter 4, above tells us that the Word of God did not work for the Jews because of their unbelief (Heb. 4:2.) That implies there are things that can nullify the power of the Word of God in our lives.
There are two main flows of the Word: you receive it in your heart and then release it through your words and actions. This is essentially what faith does. Start putting God’s Word to work for your benefit today!
MEDITATE
This is the first flow — taking the Word into the heart. Meditate on the Word above.
APPLY THE WORD
You apply the Word in any circumstance by taking it into your heart and then speaking and doing what it says.
PRAY
Ask the Father to help you grow in your ability to effectively apply the Word of God.
