The Strategy of Satan Against the Church

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14 KJV).

The strategy of Satan against humanity, the Church, and your life, has not changed since his first encounter with man. It’s working, so why would he change it? Satan’s most effective and destructive weapon in your life is not power; it’s deception.

The scripture above gives us a sobering truth about Satan: he comes as an angel of light. Satan never appears as himself, the fallen angel, so every believer must know how the Bible tells us to recognize him. He deceived Eve in the form of a serpent, and his tactics remain essentially the same. One of his most lethal weapons in destroying the Church as a whole in these last days, is through false  brethren, false apostles, false teachers, and ultimately, a false Christ (the antichrist). These are not Christians, but are the weeds (bad seeds) sown by an enemy amongst the wheat (good seeds). The verse just before today’s scripture plainly gives us this troubling truth “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ” (2 Cor. 11:13 KJV).

The enemy has already infiltrated the communities of the saints. The most deadly enemies of the Church are those that work from within. Our spiritual antennae must be higher than ever. Brethren, be not ignorant of the devices of the wicked one (2 Cor. 2:11).

MEDITATE

Why do you think deception works so well against us personally, and against the Church in general? Declare that “the Spirit of truth dwells within me, and my spiritual senses are sensitive with discernment to distinguish truth from deception”

APPLY THE WORD

There is a difference between a true man of God making an error, and agents of Satan seeking to manipulate the Church. It is our responsibility to know the difference, and not be carried away by the mistakes, or the manipulation( 1 John 4:1).

PRAY

I urge you to pray sincerely, that the Lord will keep you from error, deception, and the craftiness of cunning men.
