Making your way prosperous
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success (Joshua 1:8, KJV)
The LORD spoke to Joshua above and gave him instructions that were crucial for his success as the successor of Moses and the one to lead the Israelites into the promised land. Joshua’s single purpose was to lead Israel to conquer to inhabitants of Canaan and possess the land. The LORD essentially told him, “if you want to succeed or prosper in this endeavor, then this is what you should do…”. How many of us will like that kind of instruction from the LORD?
It turns out that the same instructions God gave Joshua is fully applicable to us today in any area of our lives. He told Joshua that he could ignite his own prosperity; that is, he could determine whether he would prosper or not! So what did the LORD tell him to do?
Joshua was instructed to meditate on the Word day and night AND to do whatever is written in it carefully. In other words, pay attention to the Word, meditate on it by not only thinking but muttering it and be careful to live by it. A simple instruction, but our destinies hang on it.
It is good to know there is something we can do to determine if you will prosper or not. The issue is if we will believe it and do it. It’s your turn.
MEDITATE
We meditate on the Word by both thinking and muttering it. When you read certain verses, learn to pause and just speak them over and over again!
APPLY THE WORD
Prosperity is not a direct answer to prayer. It is rather a result of what you do with the Word God has given to you. Some of you will believe what you have just read and sadly, some will ignore and continue to “cry to God to make way for them”. The LORD says, “make your way prosperous! “
PRAY
Ask the Spirit to help you be a doer of the Word at all times.
