Learn to cater for God’s presence
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name (Ps 100:4).
What would you do if the president of the United States was spending the night at your house? There will be obvious immediate changes in the activities of the house, which will reflect the presence of a dignity. Presence commands related changes. God actually lives in our houses! Our bodies are His temples, and He lives in us, for real! It is expected to be more conscious of the presence of another human being in our home, like the president as noted above, but less so for the very presence of God because we do not see Him. It requires faith. We do not see God or always sense Him living within us. He has given us His word that He lives in us. We take Him for His Word, and then see the results!
God lives inside of you. He is the special Guest in the Temple of your body. We know how to cater for our guests in our houses by showing hospitality. However, God will not need us to provide breakfast for Him, clean His room or do the things we will do for a typical guest. You show “hospitality” to God by giving your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Him which is our reasonable worship. God enjoys the worship and praise of His children. Cultivate a worshipful spirit, for that is the atmosphere in which God dwells. Learn to sing and make melody in your heart for the Lord. Let worship extend beyond your body to the environment in your home. God loves the adoration and worshipful praise of His people. This is one way of catering to the divine presence dwelling within you. Be a 24/7 worshipper!
MEDITATE
The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)
Let our mind revolve around the reality that God lives in you. Spend some time having your mind muse on this truth. Are you a worshipper? What steps do you need to upgrade your worship life?
PRAY
Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)
Pray that the Lord will guide you to worshipping the Father in spirit and in truth. As the Greatest worship Leader, the Holy Spirit, to begin to lead you into deeper levels of worship.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)
Be conscious of God’s presence today and show some hospitality and reverence! Create and maintain a worshipful spirit with songs, hymns, words of worship, and melody in your heart.
