I have set before you an open door

I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut (Rev. 3:8 ESV).

The Church in Philadelphia received the Word from the Lord that He has set before them an open door which no one is able to shut. It was one of the seven Churches in the book of Revelations that received commendations upon commendations from the Lord without rebuke!

An open door is figurative language for access and opportunities. The greatest open door for the believer was access to the very presence of God. The Psalmist said prophetically “Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the LORD” (Ps. 118:19 ESV). These ancient gates and doors that have kept humanity from God have been opened and lifted up. The door is set open for you!

It does not end there. Heaven’s doors and windows of blessing are also open over your life as a believer. The Lord has doors of opportunities open before you in every aspect of your life. He adds that “no one is able to shut”. You do not need to worry about those who do not like you. The doors before you are not opened by a man so your eyes should not be on any man but on the Lord.
You are currently living under an open heaven in Christ. Doors are opened before you in heaven and on earth. You are a child of grace!

What doors can YOU SEE set open before you by the Lord? Declare “The Lord has set before me an open door and no one is able to shut it”.

Trust your Redeemer. He means what He says when He says there are open doors set before you. Open your eyes and see them. You are not disadvantaged in life. You are surrounded by favor and opportunities as a Child of God you might not be aware of.

Tell the Lord “thank You” for the doors that are opened before you.
