When the blessing of God takes over

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great (Gen. 26:12-13 KJV)

The blessing of God in an asian male

The blessing of the Lord took over the life of Isaac, and the results were phenomenal. The scripture above says he sowed in the same land that everyone else was farming on and he “waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great!” What made the difference? It was not his excellent farming skills. It was the blessing.

The best natural illustration that is often used in scripture to help us understand the blessing of God is rain, especially in the desert lands of Palestine. The success or failure of every farming season in Palestine was tied to rain which made the earth productive. If you compare your life to a piece of farm ground, then the blessing of God is rain from heaven that makes that land becomes fertile to produce abundance.

When the blessing of the Lord overtook Isaac, the Bible says “he had possession of flocks, and possession of herds, and great store of servants: and the Philistines envied him” (Gen. 26:14 KJV). He became the envy of the Philistines around him. May the Lord bring the Church into the fullness of His blessing in all it’s manifestations to make His people the envy of the world! Our advantage in life is the blessing of God that has been given to us in Christ Jesus.

MEDITATE

Have we received the blessing through Christ Jesus, or we are still trying to get God to bless us? ( Gal. 3:14, Eph. 1:3) Declare that “I am an heir of the blessing of Abraham in Christ Jesus.”

APPLY THE WORD

Our problem today is not receiving the blessing but walking in that blessing. That is the walk of the Word and the Spirit. Learn to activate the blessing of God in your life( Ps. 1:1-3, Jam.1:25)

PRAY

Ask the Spirit to open your eyes and teach you how to walk in the blessing of God in Christ for you.
