Unlocking a hidden mystery of the resurrection of Christ

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me (John 12:32, KJV)

Many celebrate Christ’s death this week—but few grasp the hidden mystery His resurrection unlocked. Behind the empty tomb lies a spiritual reality so profound that most believers live without ever fully stepping into it. What if I told you that everything Christ suffered for remains out of reach for you—unless you understand what happened when He rose?

During this Holy Week as we reflect on the Lord’s death and resurrection, I have been sharing on the precious blood of Jesus. Christ’s death on the cross was the decisive defeat of Satan and the judgment of sin. It forever stands as the eternal symbol of the unfathomable love of God for us. Yet, the cross was only the beginning. The most crucial event of Christ’s redemptive work was not merely His death—it was His resurrection. Paul declared:

And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15:17, KJV)

These are sobering words. If Jesus had died and not risen, no one would have received forgiveness. Today, you stand forgiven not just because Christ died, but because He rose again! While much can be said about the resurrection—the power and new life we now have in Christ—there is a hidden mystery embedded in Jesus’ own words in John 12:32 that many overlook.

Jesus said that if He was lifted up—crucified—He would draw all men unto Himself. As a sinless Man, Jesus had no sins of His own to atone for. He did not need to defeat Satan for Himself; He already wielded full authority over the devil before the cross. We were the ones who needed forgiveness and deliverance. When Jesus died, the victory over sin and Satan was sealed in Him, but no one could access it yet.

But when He resurrected, everything changed! The resurrection unlocked the storehouse of grace, making His righteousness, victory, and authority available to all who believe. Christ’s resurrection made it possible for Him to replicate His life and victory inside of us, as if we ourselves had triumphed!

Now, when the Father looks at you, He sees His resurrected Son! When Satan sees you, he sees Christ! These are spiritual realities demons know better, even if we don’t. This is why God says, My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.

May the mystery of Christ’s resurrection fill your life with power and glory this Easter!
