For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. (Romans 1:20 KJV)
Creation is a mysterious revelation of the very nature and attributes of God. God created heaven and earth, and He embedded in creation nuggets of revelation of His invisible qualities all over the created universe. Paul tells us above that the divine nature and the power of God are seen in the things created. How do you see God in creation?
God is spirit and dwells in unapproachable light. He is invisible to us. People have seen different forms of manifestations of God, including in human forms, but no man has ever seen God as He is in His essence. In fact, man cannot see Him as He is. However, His attributes and nature can be seen through the things He has made. You can look at creation and see God.
What do you see when you look into the skies and see the stars, billions of them year after year in perfect order? That is the power of God right there in display. Look at creation and you will see His power, wisdom, love, beauty, kindness, etc everywhere. It’s so sad the world looks at creation and cannot see God because of the spiritual blindness of sin.
What does Paul mean when He says God is “clearly seen” in creation? How do we see Him? With what eyes?
APPLY THE WORD
There is an eye that sees God everywhere. It is not the physical eye. It is an eye that looks at creation with the consciousness of God and faith in Him. Once this consciousness builds up in you, you will start seeing God in ways that will amaze you and fill your heart with awe for Him at all times.
Ask the Father to open your eyes to see Him more in the things He has created around you.
