And I will give you pastors according to mine heart

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.  (Jeremiah 3:15 KJV)

The words above were spoken by the Prophet Jeremiah to the nation of Israel in the years before Jerusalem was destroyed by the Babylonians. It is very obvious the words are prophetic for the days of the Church and not limited to the Jews who heard him.

He spoke by the Spirit and said, “I will give you pastors according to mine heart”.  The word “pastors”refers to shepherds who care and tend the flock. Peter speaking to the leaders of the Church said, “Feed the flock of God which is among you” (1 Peter 5:2 KJV).  In the prophecy above, the Lord says He will send shepherds who are after His heart. They will not feed on the sheep, exercise dominion over them, use them for their gain or turn them into money-making machines.

He goes further to add a critical clause saying, these shepherds “shall feed you with knowledge and understanding”. I am showing you prophecies in the scripture which are being fulfilled right now. This is what God is doing. There is a dire need for the Church to grow to maturity and the Word is the FOOD to bring the Church to the fulness of Christ. The Spirit of the Lord is blowing over His servants and raising up  apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists and teachers who will feed the Body of Christ with the knowledge and understanding of the Son of God to bring about God’s purposes in these last days.

MEDITATE

What is the meaning of “feed” as revealed in the verse above?

APPLY THE WORD

The overwhelming majority of the believers today have not yet had a revelation of the mystery of the knowledge of God.  It is the primary reason why the Lord has directed me to start Deshen School of the Spirit. I cannot say it enough: grow in your knowledge of God. It is more than an empty intellectual or scholarly endeavor.

PRAY

Please pray the verse above that the Father will fulfill this purpose in the Church today.
