And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light (Matthew 17:2 KJV)
We know of Jesus’s transfiguration on the mountain before His disciples. I will show you a glorious revelation of the application of this truth to our lives today. Many of you do not realize that you are currently being transfigured upon the mount of God as Jesus did!
The word “transfigured” in the verse above comes from the Greek word “metamorphoo” from which we get the word metamorphosis. It denotes a change of outward form. On the mountain of transfiguration, the usual Jesus the disciples were used to seeing suddenly changed in outward form and His face was like the sun, His garments were so white, etc. He was changed.
What happened to Jesus is happening to us day after day right now! You may immediately object as you just cannot reconcile your life with the glorious appearing of Jesus on the mount. If God were to open your spiritual eyes to see yourself as a believer in Christ, you will see how you are becoming glorious and more glorious, glowing with the splendor and light of God as Jesus did on the mount. Jesus’ transfiguration was immediate, to the perfect glory. Ours is taking place gradually.
The same word “metamorphoo” is used to describe our glorious transformation by the Spirit of God
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18, KJV)
Today, we see it in the spirit. The day is coming that we will see it with our physical eyes just like the disciples! How wonderful it would be!
What do we have to do to be gradually transformed from 2 Cor. 3:18 above?
APPLY THE WORD
Be glory conscious. Open your eyes and see in the spirit realm. You are on the mount of God, being transfigured every single day!
Thank the Lord for the blessings of transformation.
