This was according to the eternal purpose that he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, (Eph. 3:11 ESV)

Christianity is God making humanity to be what He wants them to be or do what He wants them to do. It is not our us trying to become something or do His will. Your call in Christ Jesus far supersedes your limited human abilities. God’s purpose for your life fits perfectly within His eternal purpose for the entire created universe as noted in the scripture above. 

The preceding verse gives us an astonishing description of a snippet of this eternal purpose of God. It says

“so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places” (Eph. 3:10 ESV).

Did you catch that? God desires to use you, as a member of the Body of Christ, to manifest and display His wisdom to angelic beings. That is, there are things angels do not know about God which they will see and learn of them for the first time in you!!! This is how big God’s purpose for your life is. Do you know that this eternal purpose is not waiting until we go to heaven? It starts here. In fact, this year is one of the years that God earmarked to fulfill this purpose in your life!

God wants to demonstrate His love, power, wisdom, and beauty in your life. He WANTS to do it. It is not something you have to beg Him to do. It is HIS WILL. It is HIS DESIRE. It is HIS PLEASURE. You do not have to struggle to make it happen. He is more eager to see it happen than you are. All He wants is for you to cooperate by ALLOWING Him to operate in your life. The most significant reason why we struggle year after year is because the Holy Spirit is not yet entirely in charge of our affairs. If we allow God full access to our lives this year to do “His thing”,a life full of glory and beauty will certainly be ours.

Did God call you as a Christian to try to live for Him or He provides the power to do so?

APPLY THE WORD

Would you allow God do “His thing” in your life or would you have another year of holding on to “your life” or “your ways”  with the struggles and sufferings that come with it?The Lord wants you to yield. He longs to demonstrate to the world around you that you are not broke, sick, foolish, helpless or an emotional wreck. Just let Him do “His thing”.Say “yes” to Him today!

PRAY

Ask the Lord for the willingness to surrender and yield to His Spirit(Phil. 4:13)
