Our Union with Christ
But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:17 KJV)
One crucial but little-known and practiced truth in the Bible is our union with Christ. Many believers have never heard about it and certainly miss the tremendous practical benefits of applying this truth.
More than 20 years ago, I first read a little book on our union with Christ. I could tell the book’s content was true, but it meant nothing to me. A few years later, I reread that book, and it was a fountain of life! I had grown spiritually.
The believer’s union with Christ is a mystery of the kingdom. We have become one with Him. In 1 Corinthians 6:17, we become one with Christ as His Spirit joins with our spirit at the new birth.
One with Christ means one with Christ! He is fully identified with us; we are in Him, and He is in us. This is the reason why Jesus told Saul of Tarsus that he was not persecuting Christians but persecuting Him, Jesus (Acts 9:5 KJV).
Christianity is Christ in a believer living His life. Christ lives in us as us. However, it is us living, but not really us but Christ! This is the glorious truth Paul revealed in Galatians 2:20.
Your voice is His voice. Your hands have become His hands. Where you go, that is Christ going there. Whoever meets you has met Christ.
Live with the consciousness of this truth, and let it transform your perception of who you are and how you live.
Meditate
Does the Holy Spirit replace our human spirit when we are joined with Christ? What would be the implication if this were true?
Apply the Word
Be Christ-conscious. The next time you lay your hands on the sick, know that those hands are the hands of Christ, so stop bothering if they can heal. If they are Christ’s, they will do what Christ’s hands do. You only need to know and believe.
Pray
Ask the Spirit for a deeper revelation of this truth in your life.

Last week you mentioned going to a Rodney Howard Brown conference.
I have trouble accepting his so called, spirt of laughter. Would you please explain to me what you think about this.
Hi Jake. That is a fascinating issue about this man of God’s ministry that has perplexed many believers. Some accept, others question it and still others outright reject it as heretical.
The honest truth about it is that I do not understand it either, but this is what I am sure about: it is the work of the Holy Spirit through Him. I have no doubts about it. The best way to explain it will be to use a similar analogy: falling under the anointing. We do not have a clear scriptural precedence for this. Some
Christians who oppose it will stake their lives against it, that it is fake. Some continue to reject the idea until the Holy Spirit Himself throws them down under His power if they are blessed to be in a meeting where His power is manifesting.
The key question in this case is this: is this God or not? We use the truth of the scriptures, our personal knowledge of the Spirit and discernment to answer it.
I understand it might be a challenge for some Christians but if they focus on the most important question—is this God or not?—they will find it easier to approach it.
Certainly many questions unanswered, but I hope this helps show you what I think about him and the “spirit of laughter “.

Thanks for the reply, I’ll pray about it.
