Three things God’s grace will do in your life
The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the LORD has anointed me To …Â grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The mantle of praise instead of a spirit of fainting. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified. (Isa. 61:3 NAS)
This was a prophetic word given by Isaiah concerning God’s  grace that was coming in Christ. Jesus came with grace for all humanity. Grace is like electricity-you cannot touch it, or rather have it touch you and you remain the same.  In fact, one of  the root meanings of the  word “grace” in Greek is “that which affords joy, pleasure, delight..” Grace never leaves a man or a woman the same. It beautifies our lives and leaves us full of joy and delight.
The scripture above gives us at least three things God’s grace will do in us. It will change the ashes of our lives and clothe us with the beauties of heaven. Sin has left humanity in ruins. Before meeting Christ, and even after meeting Christ, we might have done things that left our lives in ashes. Sin always comes with hurts. Grace brings beauty out of the ruins and ashes of our lives. There is something that happens in us when we receive kindness we do not deserve especially when we are hurting. It sparks gladness in the place of our mourning. It finally causes praise instead of fainting and heaviness and depression. Grace leaves its marks in our lives when we receive it-beauty, joy, and praise. May your life be filled with the marks of grace today!
MEDITATE
Ponder upon the verse above over and over again in the light of today’s devotional. What marks of grace do you see in your life already?
PRAY
Thank the Lord for the working of grace already in your life. Ask Him for help to be able to receive all that grace paid for you.
ACT NOW!
If God’s grace paid for you to be launched into beauty, joy, and praise, then that is God’s will for you. You live by faith not by sight. Is your life beautiful? Full of joy? Vibrant with praise? Note, you do not have to wait to see all of these things manifested before you start praising Him. You take a hold of it by faith and THEN you will see results. If you are waiting for your situation to change physically before you start being joyful or praising God, you will not receive from God’s grace. No matter what it is today, take a step of faith and start thanking God because your life is beautiful, full of joy and praise! It is done deal in Christ.
