There is An Anointing in You

But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things…(1 John 2:27, KJV)

God has anointed us in Christ. The first deposit of that anointed was made at salvation, when Jesus came into our hearts. An amazing reality about our salvation is that Jesus( the Man) did not really come into our hearts at salvation! Jesus, as a Man, has a body and He cannot live inside of us. He is in heaven. When we received Him at salvation, we received Him, not as Jesus the Man but as Christ the Holy Spirit! One Lord with many hats! That is our amazing God. The Jesus that dwells in your heart is the Holy Spirit! He is the presence of Jesus and the Father.

It is the Holy Spirit in your heart that makes you a child of God, as He is the Spirit of adoption that makes us cry “Abba, Father.” When He came into your heart, He came with the anointing. The specific manifestation of this anointed is mentioned above. It reveals God to you. I know many of us to remember the anointing only when it manifests in power gifts. However,  there is more about the anointing  besides manifestations of power.

The Apostle went further to tell us that this anointing abides in us. It is not going anywhere. It is ours! You have been anointed in Christ!

What is the difference between the anointing and the Holy Spirit? Please read this devotional if you are not sure about it.

Let it be ingrained in your consciousness. The Holy Spirit is inside of you. You have been anointed in Christ. That anointing will teach you about the Father. It will teach you about the affairs of your home, job, or even academics. It will give you wisdom and power to live above the matters of this life.

Thank the Father for the beautiful anointing He has granted to us.
