When God needs you
And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither. (Mk. 11:2-3 KJV)
In the text above, Jesus was about to enter Jerusalem to fulfill the prophecy that was written of Him by the Prophet Zechariah “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass” (Zech 9:9)
Jesus needed a donkey to ride upon as He makes this prophetic entrance into Jerusalem. This donkey had a place in prophecy. If God needed a donkey to ride into Jerusalem to fulfill His divine counsels revealed in prophecy, what about you? There are mysteries God has revealed in prophecy and by revelation about His eternal purpose that has us as part of the fulfillment, even better than the donkey which is blessed ,above all donkeys, to carry the Creator into Jerusalem.
The scripture says “but ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light (1 Pet. 2:9 KJV). God needs you and me to show forth His praises on the earth. In His infinite counsel, He has chosen to use man to do what He has planned to do. God will do nothing on earth today without using a human being as an instrument.
The scripture above goes further to reveal to us a wonderful truth about what God does to those He needs. Jesus said to them “go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him. And if any man says unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him. If God needs to use someone, He begins by setting them free from every bondage, entanglement, or servitude. You cannot be effectively used of God if you are bound by, or a slave to, anything, sin, debt, disease, fear, depression, addiction, etc. You cannot serve two masters. He has given the command, “loose him, and bring him”! God has not permitted anything to keep you bound because He needs you free! Arise, shine and be free for God.
MEDITATE
The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)
Meditate on this phrase “loose him, and bring him”. Go deeper. You can study it deeper, meditate upon it, confess it out loud. The Word is gone forth already about your life, to “loose him, and bring him” to Me!
PRAY
Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)
Praise the Lord for the freedom we enjoy in Christ. Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see the liberty Christ came to give you. Praise that you will be fully available to God, and never in bondage to any sin, disease, satanic oppression, fear, depression, lack, etc.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)
Is there anything that is keeping you in bondage today? One problem with understanding liberty in Christ is that we sometimes do not know that we are in bondage. Whatever you do not like or want, that is making your life unpleasant or miserable, and which you want to change but seem to be unable to change it, is bondage. Are you afraid of what that person you will meet today will do? That is bondage. Are you wanting to do something but cannot because of that disease that is wearing your body down? That is bondage. God wants us free!! Stretch your faith and receive what is yours in Christ.
