The Fire Shall Ever be Burning Upon the Altar

The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out (Leviticus 6:13, KJV)

God gave specific instructions to Moses for the regular operations of the Tabernacle in the desert. Just before the Tent, there was an altar where Burnt offerings were offered. A regular burnt offering that had to be offered every day, morning and evening. Furthermore, the Lord commanded that the fire of this altar should never be put out. Think about this. Continual fire, day in day out. It means from the first day the fire was lit, it was not supposed to be extinguished. Who lit the first fire under this altar? Read an astonishing account of what happened the day the first was first lit

“And fire came out from before the LORD and consumed the burnt offering and the pieces of fat on the altar, and when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.” (Leviticus 9:24, ESV)

The Lord lit the first from heaven! It was a heavenly fire that had to be maintained continually! The priests had to make sure there was wood, and the ashes were cleaned for the fire to continue. What does that have to do with you in Christ? When you received Jesus, there was a heavenly fire that was kindled inside of you from that first day. Some of us have received impartations for specific works the Lord has called us to do. The Lord now says that fire should never go out. It is a heavenly fire, but you have a responsibility to keep it burning.

How is your fire for God? Burning? About going out? Gone out already? The Lord says your fire should not go out. Do not allow anything or anyone to put out that fire. Keep burning. Keep shining. It is your season to radiate the glory of the Lord!

MEDITATE

Did the priest have to do anything to keep the fire burning or God continued to maintain the fire supernaturally? Is there something you have to do as a Christian to keep the fire of God burning in our life?
