And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me (Matthew 4:9 KJV)

Satan showed Jesus the riches, power, and glory of the world and then said to Him, “All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me”. He promised to give Jesus wealth, power, fame, and glory if he would do just one thing for him: to give  Satan His worship as a Man. What is it about worship that Satan longs for it?

His actions reveal a profound mystery and truth about our worship as human beings. It is a spiritual treasure! It could be given to God or to Satan and his cohorts. Satan and his host of fallen angelic principalities crave worship. Paul said:

“But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils” (1 Corinthians 10:20 KJV).

Idolatry is far from being an innocent and ignorant worship of stones and sticks. There are demonic principalities behind these worship activities that receive this worship.

God needs nothing from man, at least that we can provide of our own. But there is something we have that is a spiritual treasure in the realm of the spirit. It is our worship. It is precious. Satan craves it, and he would do everything to ensure humans do not give it to God but to him either directly or indirectly.

You have something the Father is seeking after: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship Him (John 4:23). Let this revelation propel you into higher realms of worship and praise being offered to the Father as a pleasant aroma from your hands!

Can human worship be given to the devil? What are the different ways in which the world worships Satan?

APPLY THE WORD

Your worship is important to God. Yes, you have something that God is “seeking” (John 4:23). Give it to Him! He deserves it. Rekindle your life of worship. Let it burn like incense for a sweet aroma to ascend to the Father.

PRAY

Ask the Spirit to bring you into higher realms of worship.
