Satisfaction in life today
“Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance. (Isa. 55:2 NAS)
Satisfaction in life is a bedrock of our overall wellbeing each day. It makes life worth it, and enjoyable and sweet. We know that refreshing, satisfying and even enlivening feeling we get when we drink fresh water after feeling very thirsty. This is what satisfaction in life feels like. It cannot be fully explained-you just know how it feels inside.
Satisfaction is the result of a deeply seated inner need that is met. When you are hungry, food meets that need. When you are thirsty, water meets that need. But there is an inner, deep-seated need for God in every one of us. This is spiritual thirst. As natural thirst that is quenched by water, so spiritual thirst is quenched by the Water of Life. Unfortunately, many people go about meeting other needs and neglecting, denying or even suppressing this need only to find that what they were chasing does not truly satisfy them as it had promised. The scripture above says “Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy?”
There are many people out there feeling this spiritual hunger who are trying to satisfy it using other things. God alone can bring that inner satisfaction in life we need for each day. He has an abundance of the Water of life for you to have a great day, every day, including today. It does not matter what you are to face. Seek to meet that need, and everything else will make sense and take its place.
MEDITATE
Think on that verse above. Do you sense your need for God? Are you trying to fill it with other things?
PRAY
Pray that the Father will make you see your need for Him, every day.
ACT ON THE WORD!
God has no place for depression, anxiety or emptiness for your life today. When your need for God is not met, nothing else will matter. When your life within is full of the Water of Life, which is God Himself, your outward life will overflow. Be filled with God every day. Keep your hunger for God alive today.
