No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; And every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD… (Isaiah 54:17, KJV)
God’s decree for all those who serve Him, that means you and me in Christ, is that no weapon that anyone at any time and in any place forms against them shall prosper. That implies no secret plans behind your back, no conspiracy physical or spiritual that is carefully crafted against you will achieve their purpose. This is a remarkable promise to us!
Looking at the verse before gives a better perspective:
“Behold, I have created the smith That bloweth the coals in the fire, And that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the waster to destroy.” (Isaiah 54:16, KJV)
The LORD says He created the person that is trying to create the weapon. Even if they are using demonic powers to attack us, the LORD says He originally created those demons as good angels before they fell away. In fact, the LORD is reassuring us that with Him, there is nothing and no one to fear. They are all the works of His hands.
Let me end this devotional with the most important thing for you to know about this promise: you have to believe or accept it as your reality for it to work for you. That means though it is written if you do not accept or believe it, weapons formed against you will prosper as if God did not say it. So stir your heart, take hold of that promise, and rule in the midst of your enemies!
I have repeatedly written that the way to train your heart to receive the Word is by meditation. You give your mind time to ponder upon the Word and allow your mouth to mutter it again and again. Meditate on that scripture above!
APPLY THE WORD
The Lord reminded me again of this lesson a few days ago. What you believe has a huge impact on what works for you in the Word. I did not say what you think you believe but what you believe. Stand on the Word above!
Thank the Lord for giving us this security in His Word.
