Let Brotherly Love Continue
Let brotherly love continue. (Heb. 13:1 NKJ)
An attitude of love is the epitome of Christian maturity. It is the very nature of God Himself. When we were born again, we were born with the nature of God in us, and therefore able to love people the way He does.
In fact, the Apostle John says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. (1 Jn. 4:7 NKJ) Agape love for others is a proof beyond measure that we are born again.
Satan, on the other hand, always tries to counterfeit godly virtues. He can, and is already, counterfeiting miracles. He just cannot counterfeit brotherly love. The best he has done so far is to pass off charitable acts or philanthropy as acts of love.
However, it is important to understand that charitable actions or philanthropy are not the same thing as agape love. Brotherly love, an unconditional, god-like love, can only be displayed by those who carry God’s love within themselves. That is why the Holy Spirit sheds abroad in our hearts the love of God. (Rom. 5:5)
The Lord wants you to grow in the virtue of brotherly love. Continue to cultivate brotherly love in your life.
Love thinks about the wellbeing of another person. It will not do to others what it would not want someone else to do to it.
Love does not curse others or hold grudges, but forgives. Love does not speak evil against another. Love thinks the best about others.
Love is an attitude towards another that always blesses them and never intentionally hurts someone else, either with its thoughts (yes, it starts from inside,) its words, or its actions.
Let brotherly love continue. Start with those at your home. Then follow with the church of God, including your pastor and your neighbors around you. Let brotherly love continue to increase in your life.
