Heavenly peace in earthly circumstances
And He Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” (Mk. 4:38 NAS)
Heavenly peace in the midst of troubling earthly circumstances of our lives is our privilege and our gift. Â We have been created to be able to live the life of heaven on earth. God’s peace is rest and assurance in the midst of a situation that should make every other person anxious and fearful. It is aptly summarized by the phrase “it is well”.
The verse above demonstrates the peace of God in action. Jesus was in a boat with His disciples while a great storm was raging in the sea. He was sleeping in the storm. This is no ordinary life. It is a perfect picture of heavenly peace at work. While Jesus was sleeping, His disciples were wearing themselves out because of the storms. Jesus knew something that they did not know. He saw something that they did not see. He knew that there was no need for Him and His Father to be up and worrying about the storm. He knew that as a Son, He had to rest while His Father should  “worry about how to protect Him” because that is what Fathers do! The disciples even thought that His apparent lack of worry and fear worrying and fear is a sign of “not caring”.
God wants you to have heavenly peace in every situation you find yourself in today. It is not denial. It is not immaturity in life. It is casting your cares upon Him, because it is His responsibility to care for you (1 Pet 5:7).
MEDITATE-heavenly peace
Ponder about the reality of peace in the very midst of what you have to deal with today. Realize that it is possible. It is a miracle in itself.
PRAY
Ask the Spirit for the grace to maintain heavenly peace today in the midst of any storms.
ACT ON THE WORD
Maintaining our peace is a commandment from the Lord. Act on God’s Word and you will see results. When you keep your peace in the midst of the circumstance, you make room for  God to move and change the circumstance.”The LORD will fight for you while you keep silent.” (Exod. 14:14 NAS).  Victory is yours today. Remember the Lord, and keep your “silence” in circumstances to make way for Him to act. Choose to be anxious for nothing today, not because you are in denial of the seriousness of the issue or you do not care, but because God will show up and take care of it.
