God’s Secret for a Christian Life Overflowing with Victory
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God… (Galatians 2:20 KJV)
God’s secret plan for the Christian life is uniting believers with Christ—a oneness in being and living with Christ. You will do yourself a favor—a great favor indeed—by not only grasping what that plan is but also aligning yourself with it.
When Christ came to form the Church on earth, He had a plan in His mind of what the Church should be and how it would operate. Hidden in that plan is the secret to the joys, victories, breakthroughs, glories promised for the one who believes in Him. You do not need to know it to go to heaven, but you must know it to be what God wants you to be here and now.
Now revealed to us, God’s secret plan is to make His people one with Christ. Scriptures summarize this oneness in two phrases: “in Christ” and “Christ in you.” Paul describes this glorious oneness as revealed in Gal. 2:20 above. In essence, Christ has brought us to share His nature and life, and so when we live, it is not us living but Christ, though it is us still living! Christ has immersed Himself in our being such that He lives as us, and we exist as Him and in Him.
I am indeed hard-pressed to explain this mystery in a brief devotional; therefore, I pray that the Lord gives you a practical insight to fully understand this essential truth about Christian life.
