God Faithfully Provided Manna for Forty Years
And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat manna, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan. (Exodus 16:35 KJV)
Consider this: for forty years, God supernaturally provided manna for Israel in the desert. This provision is a demonstration of God’s faithfulness and dependability.
Believing in God’s faithfulness is pivotal for our relationship with Him. Our faith immediately suffers shipwreck the moment we think that God might not do what He says He would do for whatever reason. Solomon describes an unfaithful person in Proverbs 25:19 KJV:
“Confidence in an unfaithful man in time of trouble Is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint.”
The last thing you want when you are in trouble is a person who is unfaithful, someone who will not do what you are counting on them to do. Solomon says counting on an unfaithful person is like a broken tooth and a dislocated joint—it hurts deeply.
God is faithful. He has given us His Word, and we can trust that He will do what He says He would do and what we are counting on Him to do.
Sadly, prior failures in our lives often smash our confidence in God. Once, I prayed for a woman to be healed, but she was not. I was devastated and vowed never to pray for healing again until the Lord spoke to me about it. Our failures can smash our confidence in God, and many believers, sadly, have silently lost confidence in God’s faithfulness because of prior failures.
Let this truth be unshakable in your heart: God is faithful.
Meditate
Is there an area in your life where your confidence in God has slowly been eroded because of prior failures?
Apply the Word
Few things will demonstrate our faith, like trusting in God’s faithfulness when life tells us the contrary. Stand on His Word against the odds, and He will prove Himself faithful.
Pray
Thank the Father for His unfailing love and faithfulness toward us.
