From death to life
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. (1 Jn. 3:14 KJV)
Death came into the world by sin. Romans 5:12 says “wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” There was no death in the world before the Fall. Adam and Eve lived in a death-free world which was God’s original design before Satan prompted the sin that led to the Fall.
Death is not merely physical death when the soul leaves the body. When Adam sinned, he died that same day. Physical death occurred many years later, as part of death, but he was already existing in death, though he seemed to be alive. The same is true today of those who do not know Christ. Though they are alive, they are really dead, just like Adam after the Fall. Death is a realm of existence. It is not annihilation. It is existing without God and all that He is. Those who are not born of again are living in death right here, when they die physically, they will ultimately be in a God-free zone, where Satan and his demons reign.
Death is a manifestation of a God-free existence, which comes with sin, disease, suffering, poverty, fear, shame, guilt and ultimately eternal condemnation in the lake of fire. It is all that came into the world through sin. It is a spiritual power that subjects man to suffering and gradually wears out his life. No man wants to be sick or to die, but when sickness or death comes, it does not give them a choice. Poverty and lack are the result of the curse of sin and are messengers of death. The good news is that those who are in Christ have been taken out of the realm of death, starting here and now. The apostle John says we “have passed from death to life”. The beauty of this passage is that this translation from one realm to another has already taken place for us. The realm in which we are living now is the realm of life, no longer death. There are two classes of people on earth today, based on which “side of town they are living in”, -either in death or in life. Rather than death, Jesus has given us abundant life to the full.( Jn 10:10). Praise God for the translation from death to life! Death should no longer rule over you because God’s life is at work in you. Get a hold of the word and subject death by faith in His Word.
MEDITATE
The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)
You are passed from death to life. Think deeply upon this truth. Mutter it to yourself. Confess it loud, all day, every day, that you are passed from death to life.
PRAY
Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)
Praise the Lord for the wonderful translation! Give God praise, glory and thanksgiving for such a wonderful work He has done for us. Ask the Spirit to give you more revelation of what death is, and how to live above it here and now.
APPLY THE WORD TODAY!
Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)
Do you know that fear is a manifestation of death? The same is true of shame. What about disease and demonic oppression? They are all messengers of death. Death is illegal in your life as a believer. Refuse to entertain death in your body, soul, finances or family. Reinforce your territory, by virtue of revelation and faith. Be stubborn in your faith, and you will see the glory of God.
