I do not want you to be participants with demons (1 Cor. 10:20 ESV)
The LORD says He does not want us to be participants with demons. One of the major reasons why He says so is because demons are simply not your friends. The world tries to glamorous demons. However, the adjectives that the scriptures use to describe these spirits should be enough for us to understand their nature and their purposes on the earth. They are called “evil spirits”, “unclean spirits”, “wicked spirits”, etc. In fact, the Apostle Paul speaking gives us a staggering order of the realm of these spirits in Eph. 6:12
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (Eph. 6:12 ESV)
Satan and his evil spirits are not your friends. They are responsible for untold suffering, grief, and pain of humanity. The degradation of the world is evident. They wholeheartedly embrace evil spirits and make them look good and reject God as non-existent.
Demons are not mere evil forces. They are spiritual beings that are fully at work in the world today. There is not a single good demon. Not one. There is nothing to celebrate about demons, especially for you a believer in Christ. There is nothing to “Christianize” or “redeem” about a celebration of evil spirits. The world lies in darkness, and they can do whatever they want. You are of the light, and as the Lord says above, He does not want you to be participants with demons.
Are evil spirits real? What does the Bible say about their origin and activities on the earth?
APPLY THE WORD
You are in spiritual warfare, and your enemies are demonic spirits. They are not your friend. It is appalling how much demonic activity goes unnoticed in the lives of many people. Do not be ignorant of Satan and his devices. Neither should you be superstitious, seeing demons in every single natural event. Be watchful, for your enemy goes around like a roaring lion seeking prey to devour.
Ask the Spirit to help you become discerning and spiritually sensitive.
