And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s (2 Chronicles 20:15 KJV)

Emotions are high all over the world as we transition to a new year. There will be feasting, fastings, parties, prophetic words, all-night prayers, vows, new resolutions, etc. The list continues! However, let me remind you of a sure prophetic word from the scriptures from the words of 2 Chronicles 20:15 above. Jehoshaphat was facing an army more powerful than his. A prophet of God told him and the people, “ the battle is not yours, but God’s.” In other words, God is primarily responsible for the battle.

Beneath the social, political, and economic turmoils in the world today is a ferocious spiritual battle going on against God’s will and purposes in your life and for the world. The Father said His glory would fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. He told Jesus to sit at His right hand until He subdues His enemies( Ps. 110:1). This is what GOD WANTS TO DO. It is His will. It is His fight. It is His battle!

As I have shared repeatedly, God’s glory over your life is not some light or fire on your head or over the Church. It is His presence, power, wisdom, love, prosperity, health, beauty, etc. seen in every part of your life from spiritual to family. He is the One who said He would fill the earth with His glory, not you. Let God fight His battles. Your job is to yield to His Spirit and watch Him do His thing. Step into this new year with a resolution to let God fight His battles while you rest in faith and obedience to Him!

MEDITATE

How do you let God fight your battles? ( Exodus 14:14). What happens if we decide to take the fight ourselves?

APPLY THE WORD

Yes, that battle in your health, marriage, spiritual life, finances is God’s battle! However, you are His battle ax!! ( Jeremiah 51:20). He fights in and through you! Do not expect to see angels descend from heaven and start fighting for you, as in movies or cartoons!  No, it will not be as such! The one that will fight the enemies is you but it will not be you but the Spirit fighting His battles in and as you! Remember, as I have taught: God is not glorified until you are glorified. God does not win any fights until you win. He wins in you. So be strong. Great things are ahead of you this year. Your secret remains: yield to the Spirit!

Thank the Father for stepping into your life and fighting His battles!
