From believing to knowing

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. (2 Cor. 5:1)

Believing is the first step of faith and forms the foundation upon which all-things-faith is founded upon. But believing is not the same as faith.  If we do not understand this difference, we might spend our lives as believers “believing God”, thinking we are walking in faith. Believing is accepting the truth of God’s Word which causes us to receive from God. Once you have believed and received into your spirit,  you do not need to believe anymore for the same thing. You already have it. From the moment you received, you stop believing and step into “knowing” that it is yours. When you know it is yours, you start speaking and acting like someone who already has it. These actions which are prompted by what you have believed is what is called faith.

In the verse above, the Apostle said: “we know that if ..”. He was no longer believing. He had stepped into the assurance and certainty of faith, which knows that it is so. It is crucial for us to understand this difference because “believing” serves to receive from God and will not change any outward circumstances. Faith releases what you have received in your spirit from God into the outward natural life. Do not keep believing for a miracle month after month. In fact, prolonged “believing” might be a sign of unbelief because we probably did not believe we received the first time we believed. If you believe you received when you believed, then stop believing and step forward to the knowledge of faith. Faith is seen and heard. Believing is in the heart, while faith is in your words and actions.

Move from believing to knowing today. Are you still believing for a healing or you know you are healed? Are you still “believing and trusting God” for that financial miracle or you “know” that it is yours the day your believed and therefore acting like one who has it indeed? Faith words and actions without a believing heart is of no use because they are empty and powerless. Believing without acting is a dead faith. Do not be in either of these today. The just shall live by faith, so live today as a man or woman of faith.

MEDITATE

The Word in your  mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)

Are you still believing God or you are in the knowledge of faith for what you are believing?

PRAY

Water the Seed( word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)

Ask the Spirit to enlighten your eyes regarding this truth. It will transform your faith walk.

APPLY THE WORD TODAY!

Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)

Watch your life carefully today. Change paradigm. STOP believing again and again. One proof of real faith, that is, when you know it is yours is that you start giving God praise and thanksgiving for what He has already given to you. This is a marker of people who are of the faith. Those who are still believing spend their time probably crying and pleading with God, while those who are mature in faith and know it is theirs spend their time thanking God for the miracle!
