For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword…. (Heb. 4:12 KJV)

Heart disease is the number one cause of death in the world. However, there is another heart inside of every one of us that causes more death than all medical causes of death put together. It is the heart  that is inside of us called the “hidden man of the heart.”  We need excellent cardiac care, not only in the health sector but homes, schools, neighborhoods, etc.

The problem is that though we have many structures, , and systems to deal with diseases of the physical heart, the world does not know what to do with spiritually sick hearts. What do you do with a man that is sick inside and murders hundreds of people? Or a man  that is addicted to alcohol and always comes home to “rain hell” on his wife and children?  What do you do with a dad that commits adultery out of lust that leads to divorce with all the dire consequences we know on the kids and the parents themselves? What do you do with an adult that sexually molests a   toddler? What do you do with bitter hearts that result from stressful family relationships causing many to be hurt, resentful, anxious, depressed, etc.?  The list continues.

If governments had a way of treating man’s spiritual hearts, they will not expand their jail sizes.  Thankfully, there is a way out. The Word of God is the only effective treatment for the sickness of the spiritual hearts of people. It is sad that many, even in Church,  still do not recognize this.

His Word is living and powerful. It is effective. It will impart joy to a sorrowful heart. It will release a man or woman from the bitterness of unforgiveness and hurts. It will free our young people from pornography, identity crisis, lack of purpose in life, addictions, suicidal thoughts and feelings, etc. God has given His Word to us to be used as a rod to rule over the circumstances of our lives. Receive His Word in your life, and like rain, it will cause the ground of your heart and life to yield abundant fruit.

What is your attitude toward God’s Word? Compare with Prov. 4:20-23, James 1:22.

APPLY THE WORD

The world has a problem it does not know what to do with it—sick spiritual hearts. We have the solution. But first, we have also to receive, keep and surrender to be doers of that Word in Church and not be hearers only. Then we need to take the Word of God boldly into the world because contrary to what they make us believe, we are their solution. We are the light. We are their hope. You are the one to give flavor to the world. You have what they need.

PRAY

Ask the Lord to help our hearts become a fertile ground for the seed of His Word.
