You are a child of destiny
Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will (Ephesians 1:5, KJV)
Destiny, in essence, is whatever God had planned for your stay on earth before you were ever conceived. The very thought of it, that before we were born, certain things were already spoken about us should make our hearts wonder in awe.
When many of us talk or think of destiny in Christ, we are often tempted to think of our ministry callings, such as what God has called you to do. There is no question this is an integral part of our destiny in Christ but it is only the tip of the iceberg. There is a greater destiny in your life, far greater than being an Apostle, prophet, worship leader, etc. It is revealed in the verse above.
God predestinated us to be adopted into His family and to be His children. Your destiny in Christ, before you were conceived, is to be a child of God. When you believed the Gospel on that day of salvation, that was destiny being fulfilled in your life. As you are being transformed to comform to the image of the Son of God in your character, that is destiny being fulfilled in your life. As you live, manifesting the life of the Son of God to the world, and carrying out the business of your Father including ministry, you are doing what God had ordained before you were born!
You are a child of God, born of His Spirit, partaker of His nature, and a visible manifestation of His life. You were predestinated for this. You were born for this. You are here now for this. This is your destiny, child of God!
MEDITATE
What is your glorious destiny in Christ? Can you speak the words of the verse above to yourself again and again?
APPLY THE WORD
You were born to be a child of God. This description is not a spiritual cliche or some fancy spiritual truth to excite our minds. It is a life. Look at how Jesus lived on the earth and get the picture of what it means to be a child of God. Creation is waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Creation is eager to see you, God’s child on the earth!
PRAY
Thank the Lord for giving us such a glorious destiny in Christ.
