Ye are complete in Him
For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power (Col. 2:9-10 KJV).
The scripture above states in very clear terms that “ye are complete in Him”, that is in Christ. This is one of the most outstanding scriptural references that describe the unthinkable act of kindness bestowed on us in Christ. The KJV translation above somewhat veils the full force of verse 10 with the word “complete” which translates the Greek word “pleroo”. The ESV translation helps us fully grasp the meaning of this text:
“For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority” (Col. 2:9-10 ESV).
Verse 10 reads “ye have been filled in Him”. This is a continuation of verse 9 which states that the fullness of God was dwelling in Jesus as a Man. That means all that God is was living in the body of Jesus as a Temple. Jesus, as a Man and not as God, was filled with the fullness of God. And you have been filled also in Christ with the same fullness that filled Him. This is the reason why the scripture says you are the Temple of God. I want you to pause and think about what this means. The totality of God lives inside of you as a believer. You are not only complete but full with the very fullness of God
MEDITATE
How does the Lord fill us in Christ when we receive Him? ( Eph. 2:22). Declare that “The fullness of God dwells in my spirit and my body is the Temple of the Lord God Almighty!”
APPLY THE WORD
Get to know what Christ has made you become in Him. If all of God dwells in you, all He needs is for you to learn to operate with Him and allow Him to live through you. Continue to renew your mind in the Word.
PRAY
Tell the Lord how grateful you are for the wonderful blessing of the fullness of His presence.
