When You Pass Through the Fire
“When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” (Isa. 43:2 NKJ.)
Fire represents devouring circumstances that we might find ourselves in. For the three Hebrew boys in Daniel 3, the fire was a literal burning furnace of flame, but the Lord demonstrated that He can fulfill this Word whether the fires are literal or figurative. If God could deliver these three boys from a literal fire, He can certainly deliver you from the fire of financial harassment, relationship turmoil, or health crises.
The reason the fire does not devour you is because God is with you. When Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace after he had thrown in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, he screamed, “Did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? Look! I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God” (Dan. 3:24-25 NKJ.)
God was with them in the fire. God is with you in the fire you might be going through right now. The proof is that you will go through it and come out without any ashes or smell of smoke on your body. His presence is His promise to you. It is all you need to stop the power of the fire or close the mouth of the lions in your way. You might not physically see the fourth person as Nebuchadnezzar saw – but He wants you not to wait to see with your physical eyes, but to believe His Word. He says He is with you, and you should rest confident in His Word.
