Transformed by Beholding
But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. (2 Cor. 3:18 KJV)
The scripture above gives us a remarkable truth regarding the believer’s transformation. If we continually behold the glory of the Lord as it were an image in the mirror, the Spirit of the Lord will then continuously transform us into the same image from glory to glory! This image is none other than Christ, the very image of God (2 Cor. 4:4).
The ability to behold the Glory of God is crucial for Christian growth and maturity. We are changed as our gaze remains focused on Jesus. The more you behold Him, the more you become like Him.
But how do you behold Jesus? Paul gives us a beautiful clue in the chapter to follow (2 Cor. 4:6) where he explains “For God… hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ”. The face of Jesus we behold is radiating the light of the knowledge of the glory of God. When your gaze is fixed on him, your eyes will radiate with the light of His knowledge.
You behold Jesus as you receive the divine revelation of Him in His Word by the Spirit. The more you grow in the knowledge of who the Master is, the more you become transformed to become like Him!

What is God’s mirror that you look into so you may see the glory of God? ( James 1:25). Declare that “I am growing in the knowledge of the Lord and becoming more and more like Him each day”.
First, you need to ensure you are constantly beholding His face in the mirror of His Word. As you are transformed, you will start living, acting, thinking, and talking like Him!
Thank the Father for His wonderful Spirit that is working out God’s perfect will in our lives through His Word.
