Three Dimensions of Being in the Spirit • Deshen Daily

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet (Revelation 1:10, KJV)

The Apostle John says in the verse above that he was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day. As a believer, there are at least three dimensions of being “in the Spirit” that we can operate in. The first and most obvious one is that every single believer in Christ is already “in the Spirit.”This is what happens when we got saved. We were brought into God’s world, so to speak.

The second dimension of being in the Spirit is recorded in the verse above. It is a trance-like state where we become aware of spiritual realities and can interact with them. When John entered this dimension, he heard the voice of Jesus. He could not hear this voice by just being in the lower state of “in the Spirit”.

The third dimension is even more exciting. It is revealed to us by the same Apostle John in Revelation 4:1

“After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter” (Revelation 4:1, KJV)

He was already in the second dimension because he could see a door open in heaven adn hear the voice from heaven speaking to him. That tells us he was at a higher level of operation from our baseline. However, and this is where it gets interesting, while in this second dimension, he was told to “come up hither”. The voice told him to move higher, into a higher dimension! When he moved into this third dimension, he stepped into the throne room of God! The third dimension is the dimension of the throne, of the presence and of the glory!

Can you repeat the three dimensions of being in the Spirit noted above?

APPLY THE WORD

Desire to “come up hither”. Start moving from the first to the second dimension, and then from the second dimension to the third! The third dimension is the realm of glory!
