Take hold of your identity

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Cor. 5:17 NKJ).

If you are ever to know unending spiritual victory, it is absolutely paramount that you understand who Christ has made you to be. I have realized that many believers know about the new creation but really do not know what this is all about. God’s knowledge is experiential, and until your life begins to show the realities of what you know, you have not really known it.

God has recreated man in Christ. Yes, He has created again, similar to the creation of man in Genesis. When man died in the garden, it was his spirit that died—but a dead spirit is not the same as a nonexistent spirit. His spirit was cut off from the life of God. Man was a walking dead being. When you received the Word of God at conversion, that Word caused a new spirit to be created within you. People with these new spirits are different from Adam because they are children of God, meaning the Word imparted upon their new spirits is the very nature of God. You are a child of God, carrying His nature and life in you. This nature never fails, is defeated, depressed, or overcome by disease or Satan. You are a child of God, born to reign in life!

APPLY THE WORD

Revelation and faith are keeping us from fully manifesting who we are as sons of God. I will encourage you to ponder and mutter this truth for as long as is necessary for it to become your reality. Do not fold your arms, but act on the Word!
