Rest in the love of God for you today
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8 NAS)
The love of God is the healing balm for our troubled souls on this earth. It is sad that we sometimes think of the love of God more as a  doctrine that should be mainly taught in Sunday schools, new converts or to those who are hearing the Gospel to be saved. The necessity for a deeper understanding and absolute dependence on His love rather increases as we mature in our faith.
The verse above gives us a fundamental characteristic of the love of God. It is not related to what we have done. It is based on who God is, and not what we are or have done. God has chosen to love us. And He demonstrated this love when humanity was in its worst state of sin. God did the best He could ever do to show His love to man while we were in our worst state. If God could love us and send Jesus to endure the agony and grief of the crucifixion, while we are so indifferent, so lost, so sinful and rebellious, then there is nothing He would not do when it concerns us. This is clearly presented to us in Romans 8:32 “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8:32 NAS).
Rest in the love of God today. Love is demonstrated-it is not just a feeling. If God loves you, He will show it to you. He has already shown it through Christ’s death. And He will show it again in the daily affairs of your life.
MEDITATE-the love of God
Think about the verse above for an instant. Where were you when God found you? He did the most when we were the worst. What about now that you are a child of God?
PRAY
Ask the Spirit to reveal to you the love of God. Pray for the grace to actually experience and live in this love every day.
ACT ON THE WORD!
Do you really believe God loves you? Then He will never hurt you. He will never withhold whatever will be good to you. And most importantly, He will demonstrate that love, again and again, every day in the affairs of your life. He did not just reveal the love through Christ and then stop. He continues to demonstrate that love to us every day, as we look at the cross and remember how big the love is. Know and believe in the love of God today. His love for you will cause you to love Him and live wholeheartedly for Him. His love transforms us. You cannot receive His love, love Him in return to continue the same way you were living before. It will change how you relate to Him and with others around you.
