And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. (Heb. 2:15 KJV)

As faith activates the power of God, so fear activates the power of darkness and Satan. Fear is an old satanic device that has worked for as long as man has been on earth, and therefore Satan does not change it. If the enemy can succeed to get your heart to fear, a favorable breeding ground will be created for him to operate all his evil works.

Take Peter for example in Mathew 14. By faith, he worked on water. But the Bible records in Verse 30 that “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me”. The prevailing circumstances succeeded in triggering fear in Peter’s heart, and that was enough not only to abort his miracle but cause him to sink to the extent of almost dying in the very presence of Jesus.

Fear is ruining our lives in ways we probably are underestimating. In fact, sometimes we may be acting in fear, and thinking we are acting in faith. Satan knows that there is power released when our hearts fear, and he is a master at harnessing this power. Do you know that the fear from a potentially serious disease can cause more harm than the disease itself? This same principle works in every aspect of your life. You have no common grounds for fear. It must go! Train your heart to stand on God’s word in faith. This is your shield against fear and the arrows of the enemy (Eph 6:16). God has promised, that He is with us always, and will never leave or forsake us ( Josh 1:5). You must meditate on this, say it to yourself again and again until the presence of God with you is more real than the very dress you are putting on. Otherwise, fear will threaten your life daily, for there are many things to be afraid of, every day. You are called to live above fear. Be proactive, and chase fear out of your life, giving no place to the devil.

MEDITATE

The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)

Ponder upon the verse above. Can you see where fear has held you in bondage in any aspect of your life? Could fear have aborted a miracle in your life and you just didn’t know it, thinking God probably did not give it to you?

PRAY

Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)

Thank God for the promise of His presence every day in your life. Ask the Spirit to open your eyes to this reality, and help you trust in it. Pray for grace to meditate on His Word until it is more real to you that the circumstances that make you fear.

APPLY THE WORD TODAY!

Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)

It is almost certain, there will be an event today to trigger fear in your heart. When this happens, tell yourself this is the opportunity to do the Word. Consciously remember Joshua 1:5 above, and choose to believe God is with you and therefore nothing can hurt you. Then choose not to fear and leave the rest to God. If you do, you will have discovered the path to a victory above fear for life!
