Do not worry about anything

Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. (Phil. 4:6 CSB)

There are many reasons to cause us to worry, from our daily schedules to families, finances, jobs, relationships etc. There are issues in your own lives now that are demanding your attention, and a share of your “worry space”.

There is a “worry paradox” we must fully comprehend as believers if we will live worry-free and have victory in life. Worry often attacks our minds when we are faced with a challenging situation. The paradox is that worry is an OBSTACLE to getting God to help you in that situation. The last thing you need in a tough time is fear or worry, but these seem to rather be the first things present when we face a crisis. The scriptures say “The LORD will fight for you; you must be quiet.” (Exod. 14:14 CSB). Worry is a switch that turns off the possibility of a divine intervention. If you want to see God show up to help you, develop a quiet spirit and do not worry in the midst of trouble!

The secret of a worry-free life is trusting in God. Not worrying about the issues of life as a Christian is not denial or being naive in life. It is counting on God’s Word that He is responsible as your Father to handle the affairs of your life. When you trust God, you go to rest and while He goes to work! But first, you must go to rest and not worry in order to allow Him to work. If God is responsible, then why bother yourself? Why should two of you be awake at night because of the issue? One person must go to rest-either you or God. If you worry, the Lord will let you alone. If you go to rest, He takes over!  It is possible to develop your spirit to trust God’s Word in challenging circumstances. Trust Him, and leave the rest to God. Worry is an enemy of your progress, and not a friend. It might make you feel better, but it pushes you deeper into the pit. You might be surprised that you will worry and continue to worry about circumstances and nothing will change but the day you stop worrying and start trusting, even if it does not make sense, you will begin to see changes! Do not worry, but trust God in all circumstances of your life.

MEDITATE

The Word in your mind and mouth (1 Tim 4:15; Josh 1: 8)

Meditate on the verse above until it takes a hold on your spirit.

PRAY

Water the Seed (word) to grow. Invite the Spirit’s strength! (Isa 32:15; Zach 4:6)

Ask the Lord for a quiet spirit and the grace to be still in the midst of the storm.

APPLY THE WORD TODAY!

Your door to a blessed life today is doing God’s Word. Refuse to be a hearer or reader only! (James 1:22-26)

Apply God’s Word today. No matter the situation is, resolve within yourself to trust God and be still. Do not try to explain to yourself or others why your situation is unique. Remember, the rule is that only one person is to be responsible. If you are quiet, He( God) goes to work. If you work, He retreats. You will actually see things begin to change when you trust God rather than worry about the issue. Worry is an enemy and does not wish you well.
