It was not so from the beginning
He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. (Matt. 19:8 KJV)
Genesis 1:1-2 tells us that “in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form and void…”. These verses tell us what is God’s Will and what was not His will. The empty and formless earth was not of God, neither was it His Will.
Jesus speaking in the verse above tells us that “from the beginning, it was not so”. That teaches us clearly that there are many things going on today which were not God’s original idea for our lives and for the earth. Sin, Satanic activity, disease, violence, lack and impoverishment, fear, anxiety and depression, moral decadence, and the ultimate doom of unsaved men in hell were not there in the beginning. The world today looks more like Satan than God. The earth still retains some of the beauty of the original plan, but most of the activity and events on earth do not.
The story of Joseph in the Old Testament teaches us more about the disparity between what was from the beginning and what is now. After a few years of being separated from his brothers, Joseph lived in a foreign land, spoke a different language and had learned a new culture to such an extent his brothers couldn’t recognize him when they met him. But he had been separated from them for only a brief moment, less than 20 years or so. Man has been separated from God for thousands of years so much so that we have forgotten who God really is. This is the Truth men are still seeking today. Thank God we now have a new beginning.
The realities of that new beginning are seen where we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places. And hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (Eph. 2:6). It is God’s plan that His will for you in heaven be done on the earth, that as you are in the heavenly places, so you will be here on earth. That is why He gives us an instruction If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. (Col. 3:1-2 KJV). Insist that your life here and now on earth should reflect your life above. If you are not broke there, you should not be broke here. If you are bold and confident there, you should be the same here. If you are free and the very righteousness of God there, it should be your experience here. Set your minds on what you really are, where Christ is above, and you will see it here where we live daily.
MEDITATE
Meditate deeply on the truth that Jesus says above. Ponder, and confess that Word. Declare that you know who you really are and that your life now is comforting to the life you have from the new beginning.
APPLY THE WORD
Your new life in Christ is shown to you by God’s Word. Begin living with a heavenly perspective, setting your mind on the things that are above. Begin to say no to things that are not with you where Christ is in the heavenliness. Sin, fear, disease, oppression, lack etc are some of the things that are not there.
PRAY
Thank God for the new beginning we have in Christ. Pray that the Holy Spirit will begin to show you the discrepancies that are existing now between your current life on earth and what you are from the beginning of your new life on earth.
