It Took Satan for Judas to Betray Jesus
And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him (Jn. 13:2 KJV)
We know that Judas betrayed Jesus. However, many do not realize that it took Satan for Judas to betray Jesus. He had to put the idea into the heart of Judas. The more I study the Word and see Satan’s activity, the more I realize how intense his actions are on the earth right now. Even more troubling is the reality that the majority of his operations go unnoticed. One of such activities is shown above. The betrayal of Jesus was demonic activity. If we look at it from the outside, everything about it seemed so normal. However, Satan was seriously at work.
Satan can INFLUENCE human behavior, desires, thoughts, impulses, cravings, etc. He doesn’t have to possess people to influence them this way. He was fully at work in Peter when he tried to discourage Jesus from dying in Matt 16:22-23. Peter, however, was not possessed. Everything appeared to be the typical response of a caring friend until Jesus responded in an unconventional manner saying “ get behind Me Satan.” He knew what was behind Peter’s words. This is discernment.
Sometimes the results of satanic activity are very clearly demonic with a display of extreme sinfulness, wickedness, vileness, and suffering. At other times, they appear as usual as every other regular occurrence, but the spiritually discerning will be able to see through. The key is to learn to identify their activity and respond appropriately.
MEDITATE
Did Judas open a door for Satan to operate in his life to that extent? ( John 12:6, Eph. 4:27)
APPLY THE WORD
The world does not know what to do with demonic activity, talk less about finding a solution. The believer in Christ is the only solution because we have the power of God. Begin at home and put Satan under your feet in your own life and then help many others out there suffering from all sorts of torments with nowhere to turn to.
PRAY
Ask the Lord to help you grow in discernment and the exercise of His authority to rule over demonic forces.
