I shall not die but live to declare the works of the LORD

I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD (Psalm 118:17, KJV)

The Psalmist was putting to work a principle of faith, which he probably did not fully understand as it applied to those who were to be given the precious faith in Christ. Paul gave us the name of this principle: the spirit of faith. He says:

“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak” (2 Corinthians 4:13, KJV)

Spoken words are powerful. When those words are spoken from a heart that has the Spirit of God, they are not just powerful but creative! When you declare the words of the Lord by the Spirit of God, you are releasing God’s Word to bring to order whatever is trying to get out line in your life. The Psalmist declared that he will not die but live to declare the works of God. It is certain he was facing a challenging situation that might have been threatening his life. He did not just think about it. He went beyond believing it. He opened his mouth and declared it.

You shall not die from the deadly spread of the coronavirus! Rather, you will live to declare the works of the Lord! No one in your family shall die from this plague. Open your mouth and declare these words. Do not declare or speak  the fear of the world. Speak and declare life. You have the Spirit of God as a believer, and the words of your mouth carry power!

MEDITATE

Does God have physical hands? How did He create the world? Heb. 11:2. If God operates by speaking, how does He expect you to operate after He gives you His Spirit?

APPLY THE WORD

Declare the words above over your life. Declare them when you pray. Declare them when you hear or watch anything about the coronavirus that tries to strike fear in your heart. Declare that “I shall not die by the coronavirus, but shall live to clear the works of the Lord”.

PRAY

Pray and thank the Lord for ordaining power in the mouths of His children and  then open your mouth and prophecy over your life!
