I am the beginning and the end • Deshen Daily

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end (Revelation 22:13 ESV)

Our emotions typically run high when the year comes to an end. We often look back at the 12 months behind us and then looking forward with hope into the new year. It is one more year that has gone by. We are time-bound beings and function with time. Time has its stamp on our bodies and hearts. We all have an allotted amount of time each day, each month, and each year. And we have a finite amount of time on earth. When one year of our lives goes by, we know something significant has taken place.

Imagine life in the spirit realm that is outside of time. Angels do not get older or have some fixed amount of hours in a day in heaven to catch up with activities as we do here on earth. Chronological time is an issue of earth life. Furthermore, the Father, who is spirit, is not only outside of time, but He is the Source of all things, time-bound and timeless. Jesus made the remarkable statement above and said He is the beginning and the end. These are not words that angels who are also spirits can dare to utter. He did not say He is outside of time. He is the beginning and the ending of things of time. Time gets its very definition and essence from Him.

Jesus knows you in and out. He is at the end of this year and the beginning of next year. No matter what happened this year or what you already see coming next year, remember that He is the Alpha and the Omega, and do not let anything trouble you.

MEDITATE

Who created the years, months, and seasons? God is outside of time but does He pay attention to the beginning and end of years?

APPLY THE WORD

Look at 2020 with the eyes of Christ as it comes to an end. He is the ending. Look at 2021 with His eyes, for He is the beginning. Do not let your heart be troubled by anything. Remember, the world is not getting better, but those in Christ are destined to shine brighter and brighter!
