He has chosen us in Christ
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love (Ephesians 1:4 KJV)
How would you feel if I said I had a word of heavenly vision and heard a prophetic word from God about you which said: “you are God’s choice”? Would that impact the way you think and feel about yourself? The answer for many of us will be a resounding yes. Well, I have a word from God to you that is better and more sure that a word of knowledge or vision that any prophet can ever give you. It is in the scripture recorded in Ephesians 1:4 above:
“He had chosen us in him before the foundation of the world”.
God has chosen you in Christ. Put another way; you are God’s choice. I want you to think about the power in these words. An important question at this juncture is this: what did God choose us for? In our ministry-dominated Christian mindset today, we will immediately think about God choosing us for a great ministry work such as apostle, prophet, teacher etc. Yes, God calls and chooses us for ministry tasks but this is not what this verse is all about.
God choose us to be His children in Christ( verse 5). The very fact that you believed in Jesus and now a saint or child of God is the result of God’s choice. Choice means we had options, and we had to pick the one we like or want. God wanted you to share in the blessings of being a child of God. He picked you. You are His choice!
MEDITATE
Please take a moment and think over the verse above in the light of what I just shared. Then say that verse out loud to yourself.
APPLY THE WORD
Let this consciousness permeate every part of our minds: we are God’s choice. We did not choose Him. He chose us. It has nothing to do with what we were or had done. In grace, He chose us to share in His glory! Live from this mountain top everyday!
PRAY
Bless the Lord for the wonderful opportunity of being chosen in Christ.
